What is the true essence of yoga?


Yoga is not just about physical postures and meditation; it is a way of life. 

The word "yoga" means union–to yoke, to join, to merge. Yoga movements and sequences work to expose any unmet tension, disturbance, anxiety, resistance, or rigidity in the mind and body, so that it can be met with present awareness, relaxed and dissolved. With consistent practice, the action of bringing awareness to areas of tension trains the nervous system to cultivate acceptance and to be comfortable with reality. 

Kaiut Yoga–Therapeutic Yoga for ALL, regardless of age, flexibility, or degree of fitness. 

All classes are taught using the Kaiut Method. Kaiut Yoga consists of prolonged passive and active movements that help to expose and eliminate blockages and restrictions. The sequences are designed to help the practitioner develop a skill within their nervous system which allows them to experience their natural state of pure being, peace and ease. The majority of the practice is done on the floor and are accessible to everyone. Kaiut Yoga works to return the body to its optimum structure and functionality by targeting the joints, reprogramming the nervous system, and eliminating pain.
